| Description: |
|
| The school, which has been
open since 1983, is open and airy in character, easy to
get around and pleasant to be in. This has been achieved
by the use of courtyards, extensive roof glazing,
varying roof heights and spacious circulation in the
deep planning of the building. Particular attention has
been paid to detail design for the children, who have a
range of disabilities, from the position of handrails
and radiators to the design of adjustable furniture and
fixtures. All areas of the building are easily
accessible by children of all abilities. It is the first
of three school buildings on the campus at Malone Road
completed by the practice for children with different
disabilities and has a fully fitted hydro-therapy pool. |
